Notes for The theatric tourist in the hand of James Winston, ca. 1803.

Rough notes, in Winston's autograph, presumably for his Theatric tourist (1804-1805). The notes, without plan or order, are on provincial theatres of England, with details of history, actors, managers, structure, operation, financing, etc. Four covers of what appear to have been separate notebooks are labeled Theatric Tourist and numbered 1 to 4; three are marked "Done," one "All Copied ..." How this is related to the larger MS at Harvard Theater Coll. (see C.B. Hogan, in Theatre notebook, I, 86) is not clear. (See also ibid., IV, 38, A.L. Nelson's dissertation, 1968).

67 leaves.
